Billy began his racing career in the autocross arena. That led to road racing, competing in sprint and endurance races across the US for such national sponsors as Porsche, Mosler, Mitsubishi, Ford, Saab, Nissan, BFGoodrich and Michelin. To date, Billy has 15 SCCA championships to his name, a track record at Indiannapolis Raceway Park and holds five national or international endurance driving records, as certified by ARCA. Two of those records are for Porsche Cars North America. Billy also won the Car and Driver One Lap of America. He now passes on his knowledge to others, having instructed or been chief instructor for several racing schools in the U.S., including The Marlboro Racing School, TrackTime and The Mid-Ohio School.

Actor/Comedian Tim Allen was a co-driver on the team Billy managed for Nissan.
